Today's Airing of The Price is Right (#6243)
(Original Air Date 9-28-2005)

Credit Card: Kathy lost ($2100 Credit Limit); Motorcycle, Country Music Albums, Hostess Set, Day Bed, and Bowling Equipment

Pocket Change: Kyle wins (75 cents for car); Buick LaSabre ($27,831)

Squeeze Play: Joseph wins (removed “7”); Trip to Mazatlan ($2923)

Showcase Showdown #1: Kyle wins with 95 cents

Grand Game: Ingrid lost $1000 (Target Price $4.00)

Master Key: Ann lost (1 Key); Cookware, Floor Clock, and Chrysler PT Cruiser

1 Right Price: Genevieve lost; Home Gym ($1668) and Dining Room Table

Showcase Showdown #2: Ingrid wins with 75 cents

Showcase: Double Overbid; “Tears” Showcase, Hot Sauces, 52-inch TV Set, and Chrysler Sebring; “Failed Retail Chains” Showcase, Gardening Equipment, Range, and Travel Trailer

Credit Card’s “array of prizes” received numerous rounds of applause from the audience, including the Bowling Equipment out of all things. After choosing the Country Music Albums and Bowling Equipment, Kathy assumed the Day Bed would not exceed her credit current. Fellow Mobilian and overall Alabamian Genevieve joined Contestant’s Row representing a local senior citizens center. Bob accepted Joseph’s request to no longer kill his patience with the buildup, so the price of the trip to Mazatlan was revealed a few seconds early. Unlike the buildup in Squeeze Play, the one in Grand Game only led to disappointment for Ingrid. Ann joined us on stage $500 richer after an amazing perfect bid in Contestant’s Row. Unfortunately, the only key in Master Key she earned was the neither the namesake of the game, nor the one that would earn her the car. It was the key that opened nothing. Genevieve escapes Contestant’s Row at the last possible moment for a game of 1 Right Price, where a certain Dining Room Table in the $2000-$3000 range was ready for one’s first glance. Bob assured viewers that Genevieve would return for our second Showcase Showdown. Genevieve didn’t make it into the Showcase, but she left today’s show with fund memories and the hearts of her fellow southwest Alabamians watching today’s show. Today’s Showcases featured Hot Sauces, Gardening Equipment, and a Travel Trailer. We end today’s show like any other show with a Double Overbid at the end; Bob mingles with the audience and the rest of the on stage crew, including our announcer Rich waved goodbye.

Today's Airing of The Price is Right (#6241)
(Original Air Date 9-26-2005)

Triple Play: Terry lost; Pontiac Sunfire ($16,850) and Two More Automobiles

Half Off: Christina lost (Box #10); Two Halves and Box #1 contained $10,000

Showcase Showdown #2: John wins with $1.00 ($1000)

Showcase: John wins; Sleepwear, Bedroom Group, and a Hovercraft ($42,094 in prizes)

From the moment he said, “how you doing, Bob?” proud new piano owner and Wisconsin resident Terry was quite a character on stage. Our host was in near danger yet again as Christina actually leaped to hug him. Bob had to settle on the outer edge of the Big Doors to regain what breath Christina took out him. She heeded his warning to keep away as he settled down, by the way. Arthur received plenty of “boos” after making his final decision in “Coming or Going” before his trip’s price of $7464 was confirmed to be right. “You’re Bob Barker…and that’s the wheel…wow”, said Terry, who’s level of excitement and happiness since visiting the show has never diminished. Before Arthur managed to beat Terry’s score of 60 cents, the latter was referred to as, “the happiest man in the studio right now. Claudette now has two new additions to her home on the farm, along with a rather expensive Patio Set (over $3000) she won in Contestant’s Row. Before playing the Grocery Game, Lisa mentioned off camera that she is among the folks who never knew a world without our host. John managed to tie Claudette’s score of 80 in Showcase Showdown #1 before getting $1.00 in his second spin. Today’s Showcases featured Sleepwear for the whole family, a Hovercraft, and a Lincoln automobile protecting “Rock Rocker, Retired Musician” from an old fan from many years ago. There was no overbid in today’s Showcase, but John’s difference was low enough to become our top winner today.

Clock Game: Layden wins Dining Room Table ($833); Portable Hot Tub ($899)

Dice Game: David lost; Ford Ranger ($15,645)

Grocery Game: Darrious lost (Total $21.87); Bedroom Group

Showcase Showdown #2: Darrious wins with 85 cents

Showcase: Darrious wins; “Game Room” Showcase, Pinball Machine, Pool Table, Arcade Cabinet, and Trip to Morocco

Our journey into Price’s excellence begins with Darrious leaping from his front row, along with giving his fellow members of the row high fives, and finally his spot in Contestant’s Row. Florida’s rare variety of Layden was quite a rare character indeed, from bringing up the question of “Do I get to keep it?” for the first time ever in this game, even though he claims to know Clock Game. “You’re hurting me,” says Layden as Bob jokingly attempted to walk him off the Turntable after questioning the prize he shall keep no matter what. Despite being “so close”, says our Clock Game player, but his character and spirit remains intact at the very end. Like our previous contestant, Terri showed emotion of the rawest kind. I suppose a portion of the $10,000 in cash went toward Christmas gifts. After Tearether demonstrated her “run in place”, she made quick changes in the One Away price set for her. Even after 2 rounds of negative reaction from the audience and two changes (from the first “2” to “0”, which were correct), Tearether would still find out she lost. Showcase Showdown #1 featured not one, but two $1,000 winners including Layden and Terri. Representing a college sorority, Celina nearly rammed Bob into the Turntable before both the Piano and Squeeze Play were revealed. “Yes, Bob I love you!” were Darrious’ first words on stage after escaping Contestant’s Row at the very last minute. No $1,000 winner during this Showdown, but Darrious came back big with his final spin of the Big Wheel, bringing about a winning reaction consisting of leaps and a gorilla like chest beating. Showcase #2 featured the “Automatic Santa Machine”, or ASM. Both Showcase bids didn’t go very smoothly, especially with Darrious who managed to get Bob to understand his bid in less than a minute. We end today’s show with Darrious earning himself both a handshake and a pat on the back from our announcer Rich.

Today’s first Item Up for Bids was a large Playhouse, which according to Bob may cost $400,000 in the San Fernando Valley instead of the $1600 it was today. “My aunt was out here, in the Fifties”, said Clara as she left Cover Up, referring to Bill Cullen’s version of the show. Manohack had all the items featured in It’s in the Bag above their respectful prices, yet on account of her husband Timothy of the USA’s Navy, she decided to stop halfway down the line of products. There was no need to be disappointed, as $4000 is more money than most folks would earn in one day. Tina joined today’s show with a shirt honoring Rod Roddy with the words “Forever a Fan” above his picture. Service veteran Charles rolled a trio of “3” and “1” in the Dice Game today. Bob encouraged the audience to think “4” as the last number in the Chrysler automobile’s price before it turned out to be “5”. Today’s Showcases featured “The First Bank of Price”, a Trailer, and “The Price is Right Train Depot” with a couple of motorcycles in the caboose. We end today’s show with Manohack and her husband in front of the Trailer. Good day!

Showcase: Hunter wins; Cellular Phone, Trip to New York City, and Ford 500 ($32,062 in prizes)

Celebrating his 18th year of life on today’s show was Hunter, who had more surprises in store. Dorothy may be unfamiliar with the Check Game, but she proved today that she could finish a real check. Shannon priced the jump-start system correctly in Spelling Bee on a day when problems with the price displays were known, thus resulting in the need of price cards. After the audience participated in a Harry Houdini-like act with the reveal of the fourth card, which turned out to be “A”, Bob was quick to reveal the next card to be that much needed “R”. The ticket address was given out today after Showcase Showdown #1. Aryan (pronounced Air-REE-AN, or “AIR-ran”, according to our announcer Rich) found an ace in Card Game, giving him the chance to bid $20,000 on the Ford automobile. The name “Baby Grand Piano” or its size never fooled Brenda in Side By Side today. Today’s Showcase featured things that terrified Price’s crew, how some movies were cast (such as “Sunset Blvd”), and the Ford 500. We end today’s show with Hunter ending his birthday celebration with more than enough.

”A Fellow”: The December 12th, 2005 Edition

On December 12th, 2005, it would be 82 years since a new human was born, a fellow with 1/4 Sioux Indian in him, a fellow who’s managed to move forward in life after his pappy’s death in his young life, a fellow whose second “Love of His Life” was found at first meeting during the high school years, a fellow who has had basketball experience, a fellow who survived basic pilot training in the U.S. Navy (but never went into battle as the second world war came to a close) and earned his wings, a fellow who had traveled to California to pursue a career in broadcasting (earning a program of his own, including a game show format similar to Price), a fellow’s voice discovered by one Ralph Edwards as his successor on one national game show called “Truth or Consequences”, a fellow whose successful foray into television earned himself attention by one Mark Goodson for a game show revival, a fellow who managed to handle 2 games shows during the 1970s, a fellow who’s been busy with pageants & CBS Pasadena parade coverage, a fellow who survived both deaths of the 2 holding the title “Love of His Life”, a fellow who survived his own pursuit for animal rights, a fellow who survived “The Enemy Within” his success (and continues to do so), a fellow who’s survived the departure of those responsible for him continuing his success, including 2 permanent departures from our world, a fellow who even has the strength to carry on a now 30+ year tradition on network television, and last but certainly not least in any way a fellow that even Richard Dawson would want to live up to, kiss wise.

This fellow is Robert Barker, otherwise known as Bob, and he is now 82 years of age.

Showcase Showdown #2: Nadine wins with 65 cents

Showcase: Nadine wins; Hawaiian Flowers for a Year, Living Room Group, and Spa ($16,770 in prizes)

Alexander’s request for Bob to call him “Alex” was the beginning of some interesting interaction between contestants today. Mark was quick on his feat as he punched four holes in the Punchboard. Bob asked Mark what amount of prize money would prompt him to quit, with the fellow responding with “$10,000”. A second after our host revealed the $5000 slip, “I’ll stop, I’ll stop…I lied!” Mark shouted. In Paulette’s eyes, Bob is her birthday present along with the prizes she won today. Loyal viewers were surprised that there was no camera shot of the audience before Showcase Showdown #1, along the introduction by our announcer Rich of the closed captioning sponsor. Online ticket information replaced the ticket address today. Darla’s choice of the Day Bed in Credit Card sealed her fate, but she remained happy and filled with laughter during the course of the game. Representing Bell, Missouri (population estimate 1000) was Nadine, who had a rough time rolling the first dice in Dice Game. Today’s Showcase featured a “Tops” theme, Spinning Tops, a Chrysler Sebring, and Hawaiian Flowers. Nadine’s Showcase had a difference of $2000 between her bid of $14,000 even. We end today’s show with Nadine and her crew, including those wearing red-white shirts. Good day!

Showcase: Joseph wins; “Cancelled TV Shows” Showcase, Treadmill, Range, and Ford 500 ($34,268 in prizes)

The ball Cindy was looking for in Shell Game turned out to be in front of her the whole time. Before turning 80 years of age on the next day, Eino earned an early gift of $1000 courtesy of the show. The Big Doors that revealed Safe Crackers were already open for Bob and Joseph today, but the introduction of the prizes (including the music) remains the same. "Most Expensive!" said Christopher as the Big Doors opened. After the price of the Drum Set was revealed, Christopher said, "that's the one!" before both he and Bob asked Roger in the producers' corner if its possible that he can change his mind at this point of the game. During rehearsel, Robin did a good shout of "That's Too Much!", but when the time was right she didn't "want to go" anymore. Representing a group of sailors of the USA's Navy was Thao, who received many shouts of "8" during today's game of Squeeze Play. Today's Showcase featured hallucinations, a Cruise of the Greek Islands, and the 2006 Ford 500. We end today's show with Joseph celebrating in front of the automobile.

Today's Airing of The Price is Right (#6292)

Showcase: Nicole wins; “The Price is Right Coffeehouse” Showcase, Pair of GPS Devices, Spa, and Trailer; Sleepwear, Bedroom Group, and All Terrain Vehicle ($58,904 in prizes)

Numerous members of the audience disagreed with Bruna’s choice of the Guitars in Swap Meet, forcing her to hesitate for a few seconds before confirming her decision for Bob. Jerrice’s husband Ron in the audience proved to be great help throughout the Range Game from the moment he stuck out his finger to the few seconds he signaled for her to stop. Before Ashley made her escape from Contestant’s Row, Bob mentioned for viewers that Luann of the audience has figured out what his age will be in the number of seconds once December 12th arrives. “2,654,890,680 seconds”, according to Luann. Ashley’s mother Jill happens to be a former contestant from years ago. Unfortunately, like Jill who walked the Golden Road that included a Travel Trailer, Ashley was also disappointed that she won’t be returning home as the proud owner of a new vehicle. Joseph was not the only marine to come on down today, as fellow marine Casey would later mistake hearing our announcer Rich summon him. Nicole answered the question Bob’s “ridiculous” question by saying “no” to the idea of choosing another number from the Pass the Buck board. Concepcion raised the Magic # lever higher for only one second before returning to her normal, yet slow pace. Today’s Showcase featured Price’s very own coffeehouse, a Trailer, and an All Terrain Vehicle. Nicole’s Showcase bid had a difference of $8, making her today’s Double Showcase Winner.

Showcase: James wins; “Rhonda Rivet, Construction Worker” Showcase, Sewing Machine, Laptop Computer, and Chevy Colorado ($46,548 in prizes)

Garnet will be returning to Zelienople, Pennsylvania with more than her friends and family back home had expected. Marine James was only one putting line away from earning a $500 bonus and the chance to putt from the last line in Hole in One. Before the small items were introduced, we would learn that James is also a golfer, but this never stopped Bob from attempting to make another perfect inspiration putt, which never happened unfortunately. After Wallace was asked if he carefully studied the prices featured in One Wrong Price, viewers and members of the audience were surprised to learn what he was really paying attention to. All I can say is that a very interesting audience reaction (“woo!”) occurred shortly after Wallace answered Bob’s question. Ruth only chose one number outside of the Ford automobile’s price, which belonged to the Dining Room Table. Patricia may have been thinking about $40 being the correct price for the Massager featured last in Cliffhangers, but she probably decided to play it safe by saying “$50” instead. Today’s Showcase featured various pieces of exercise equipment, a Trip to Tahiti, “Rhonda Rivet”, and a Chevy Colorado. We end the 72nd perfect show in Price’s history with James and his fellow marines celebrating around the new truck.

The timing was off by one second between Bob’s entrance from the Big Doors and our announcer Rich’s introduction, resulting in “…and now, here’s our host the star of The Price is Right…(one second pause)…Bob Barker!” Misty joined today’s show wearing an Alabama Crimson Tide shirt and hat with the teams’ logo. Barbara had at least two price tags beside their respective prizes in the Race Game at one point, but her downfall began when she decided to switch one of those tags with another prize. After successfully choosing all three items that are half-priced, Lisa of Oklahoma only had Box #1 and Box #14 to choose from. Before opening Box #14, Lisa asked if she could remove the box top completely. Before anybody else could help, our Half Off winner decided to pick up most of the $10,000 in cash on her own. Kaye will be sharing one of those Water Bicycles she won in Coming or Going with her husband Earnest in the audience. The only price digit Travis left out in Cover Up was the “2”. Celebrating her day of birth on today’s show was Mary Ruth, whose choice of expensive Jelly Belly candy and some Airborne supplement in Pick A Pair earned her a trip to Thailand. Before Showcase Showdown #2 can begin, Kathy Greco of the producers’ corner and contestant Paul were invited on stage to perform a dance known as “The Gator” along with some music. Greco’s last “Gator” dance on the show was in 1986. Today’s Showcases featured a human-size ant, a Ford Explorer, and The Price is Right Tugboat tugging the prizes featured in the “Port O’ Price” Showcase. Lisa’s Showcase bid may have been too low, but Kaye went over as expected by the audience. We end today’s show with Lisa getting in and out of the Ford automobile’s passenger side.
