Folks, since December it has become increasingly difficult to cover shows on TV & radio which air during the morning hours of 9:30-11:00 AM in the Central time zone. After the popular local radio talk show "The Uncle Henry Show" was moved to the new timeslot of 9:30 AM-11:00 AM due to another talk show's takeover of the 2:00 PM hour (making Paul Finebaum a 5 hour program), I knew I had to sacrifice covering the other 60 minutes of the Uncle in order to continue covering Price as it aired. Unfortunately this busy time of the morning is slowly effecting my mood to comment and/or type about both shows around almost the same time period and it's already clear that local viewers/listeners of both shows have had enough of this. In an effort to keep a long story short, Price and the Uncle airing at the same time is a nightmare and hazard for regulars of both shows.

I encourage readers spanning the globe to end this timeslot situation going on the Alabama Gulf Coast by sending letters to...

Whitney joins Bob on stage first with plenty of time on her wrist, but for reasons unknown she spared some time from fully opening the Safe Crackers safe revealing prizes locked away for less than a minute. Representing a white clothed group from Cleveland, Ohio who believe “All Women Love to Shop”, Michelle finally got to say, “You look good” (low tone) and “You look good for your age” (higher vocal tone at Bob’s request) to our host. We would soon learn that today’s studio audience features numerous Baptist groups and only one Methodist fellow named Steven. Paulette moved forward after her first roll out of two in Let ‘Em Roll with an outcome of 4 cars and a prize of $1500 on top the of four cubes. Paulette and Whitney became $1000 richer in today’s Showcase Showdown #1, but it would be Paulette that would survive a combination Spin Off/Bonus Spin of the Big Wheel. Folks, meet “Teacher of the Year” Lenthia from her hometown, who’s now the proud owner of both a couch and Gentleman’s Chest. As the road to a perfect show continues, one of WKRG-TV5’s final airings of Dan Rather’s 50th anniversary message for the station aired shortly after Mr. Rich Fields reminded us to “stay tuned”. The road ended the moment Cora missed another chance at stepping on “1” by choosing $17 over $25 as the price of the “Fargo” digital video disc (DVD). Noah representing today’s first four contestants was given the chance to say “aloha” to his fellow Maui, Hawaii residents, since the final bidding process is upon us. Thanks to a $1 bid after realizing everyone else has overbid, Noah made his grand escape from Contestant’s Row at the last possible moment. As Lenthia danced, the Big Wheel began to stop on 70 cents, beating Noah. Paulette’s Showcase was a “Anything Goes Telethon”, featuring a Dishwasher, Trip to Italy, and Trailer. Due to Lenthia’s crew overcrowding the Turntable, viewers were unable to see her full total of prizes.

Our week begins with a Contestant’s Row of three fellows and one lady consisting of one Ross in what appeared to be a tuxedo, but it’s actually a shirt with the design of the “penguin suit” (it’s well known nickname). The lone female representing the state of Iowa became today’s first contestant on stage and up for trips spanning almost the entire North American continent. Unlike the last playing of Coming or Going, audience chants of “Clorox, Clorox” was the right influence for Thomas in his choice of $2.99 cleaner and becoming $10,000 richer. Cassidy the Dog made her worldwide appearance after meeting members of the audience (and possibly her future owner) earlier. Brooklyn’s short sleeved one named Ross managed to pick every number in the Any Number piggy bank without a single mistake. Bob wished the struggling actor the best for the rest of his life, starting with some wise use of $8.74 as he plans to do after the show. Before Gisela escaped for Most Expensive, I guess fellow contestant Nicholas assumed the Rug’s price is $999, one dollar less than the $1000 bid by another player. After less than 10 seconds and a couple of repeats of “Herma Bird (or Byrd), come on down” by Rich, Herma rises from her seat at the back of the audience before being escorted to her spot by a CBS page (Old Columbia’s version of the “Red Coats”). Before the ball was revealed, Shell #4 moved slightly a second or two after Nicholas chose to start off with this one. Christa the redheaded student and new Jeep owner amazes all on her college campus and other Price viewers with her perfect win in One Away. As the audience prepared to boo Gisela for what appeared to be a weak Big Wheel spin, reality would hit once the wheel stopped at $1.00. Today’s first Showcase featured old Egypt, a Cellular Phone, and a void pyramid docement.

Good Friday, or happy Friday fellow survivors of another week of excellence (excluding yesterday’s Double Overbid) as Bob made his entrance through the audience aisle with high fives from left to right. New Motorcycle and Chevrolet owner Diane conquered Pocket Change perfectly by choosing every single digit in her prize’s price without a mistake, which is most certainly an historic first according to Bob’s good memory. Russell wearing his handmade shirt featuring a photo of Bob in the middle became today’s 2nd winner in a row. Make that three in a row when counting Amanuel representing the USA Navy (7 years + days) and his accumulation of $2000 on the Plinko board. During Showcase Showdown #2, we would learn that Diane is one day away from the 30th anniversary of her marriage to husband William in the audience. “This is unanimous and yet she’s hesitant” said Bob as a tall and long in hair length Arlene listened to most of the audience chanting “Going, Going”, keeping her own family’s shouts of “Coming” in the very end of the backburner sadly. Shelly of the red B-O-B shirt gang became the victim of not a unanimous audience, but one friend who suggests that the fourth digit is lower than the “3” rolled. Our last contestant to come on down was Cherrie, along with her tears since she’s part of her mother’s dream come true to attend the show. Hi Lo happens to be Brian’s favorite game, according to the back of his shirt and he would play it shortly after he, along with his fellow contestants all went over in Contestant’s Row. Russell’s Showcase featured snoring, Stereo System speakers, and a Pontiac Grand Prix. Neither one of our Showcase players went over, but Shelly was the one with the better bid to become today’s top winner. We end this week’s worth of shows with Shelly and her small group celebrating in the new Dining Room.

After the Boat known as “The Dink” was revealed, a “one man riot” managed to break out as Bob was beginning to ask our first four contestants for his or her bids. This “rioter” made himself clear for viewers and anyone else left after Bob’s laughter with a shout of “I love you, Bob!”. Groom to be Jason has indeed seen & learned the legendary Clock Game during his years as a Price viewer and he redeemed himself very well around uncommon prices such as $998. Representing Louisiana and wearing Mardi Gras beads today was Teresa, who’s long, tempting path consisting of a male Watch and Radio Vacuum would end sadly with her choice in the last digit in the Focus’ price being the lone one that’s incorrect. We would learn before Jason surpassed everyone during Showcase Showdown #1 that he is representing a wedding party among Stage 33’s audience. In less than a minute of audience interaction, Nikita would make her unfortunate decision in Double Prices. USA Marines captain Marek fell victim to the audience on the prices of the first two Bonus Game items, but managed to come back half-way in the game. Diana now owns the same Lobster Tennis Ball machine that threatened her well being with a single tennis ball before leaving Contestant’s Row, which Bob finds very appropriate in her case. Even on a dreary day like this on the Alabama gulf coast, a Double Overbid is the outcome for today’s Showcases spanning from opera to Hawaiian Flowers to the Snowmobile. Our Price viewing for today ends with a shot of the audience up in arms as Bob mingles with the lucky folks. “Good Friday” may be over two weeks later, but lets hope that name applies to tomorrow. We continue to dive into Price’s excellence for March starting with a pair of guitars up for bids. New guitar owner and Check Game player Rachel was very lucky as a relatively new player to the game, as she was only a hand full of $10 bills (plus cents) away from having a check + prize total above $6000. After Kathy “Speedy” made her Olympic-style run into a Contestant’s Row vacancy, Bob demonstrated his comparison of Kathy’s run to that of Groucho Marx, bringing out of a mouth full of laughs out of our announcer Rich. With only 2 chances to use wisely, Jack of Nashville remained in touch with the audience as he pointed toward certain price tags, which Bob found uncommon to the point of assuming this comes as an historic moment. Mathematician Brooke would unfortunately make an error in her own field of study. “Spin…again?” said Jack before going over with an addition of 95 cents. Janice of the Red Hat gang in the audience made the run for Contestant’s Row before Bob directed her to the assigned spot. After her escape, Shenoa proved to be a threat to Bob with her high-pitched screams (sometimes not understandable) and acrobatic moves. Representing the USA’s Navy and Marines were two different fellows named “David”. Shenoa continued to amuse everyone with her forceful falls to the floor after each spin of the Big Wheel. Today’s Showcases featured inventions, shopping, and a Sailboat. We end today’s show with Kathy’s rather large crew celebrating, including one energetic fellow making himself the center of our attention.

Before the one whom Bob would refer to as “dangerous” made her way out of Contestant’s Row for “Switch?” observant viewers would notice soft-voiced Belinda’s bid of $1250 on the Refrigerator being displayed as “$1251” for less than an entire second. “Higher, baby!” said Cassia as she won herself 4 punches along with the prizes representing them. Bob admitted that his age was showing shortly after comparing Cassia’s punching style to Clay, or Muhammad “The Greatest” Ali as he would be known as later on. Philadelphia’s Belinda conquered That’s Too Much with two versions of her way of saying “That’s Too Much!” the first one being slightly lower than the one that would determine the outcome. Before Yasmin (or “Yamina” as Bob would prefer) joined us, everyone who was in Contestant’s Row had a name that ends in “A”, a fact Bob acknowledged proudly before realizing not everyone cares. Joshua was a victim of trickery by the double zeros in today’s Squeeze Play appearance. Future homeowner Keeira realized the situation she was with a Grocery Game total between $19.00-$21.00 and took the fact that she already lost very well since the last two products would in no doubt bring her total over $21.00. The last digit of “1” never came to Eric in his Cover Up playing after managing to get the other 4 digits correct on the first try. Before Showcase Showdown #2 can begin, a performance by Eric’s fellow members of the Western Washington University Concert Choir, along with some nice camera movement. After Joshua became today’s Showcase winner, his entire crew ran for the Turntable before Bob directed them toward the big doors concealing Joshua’s trips for a choir performance, whom we learned about shortly after the Eric's choir performed down in Contestant’s Row.
